Project Overview

The complete renovation of this sprawling house set on 13 acres in the Greenspring Valley was undertaken in the aftermath of a kitchen fire that resulted from a lightning strike. Redesign was complicated by the numerous renovations and additions of varying styles that the structure had been subjected to, leaving it with a patched together feel, highly dysfunctional layout, and no architectural identity. The project was handled in two phases allowing the house to be occupied throughout construction. To assist an overwhelmed owner, interior design help was brought in yielding stunning results for a truly turnkey process. The outcome was a home that had been utterly transformed with new exterior design components bringing a redefined architectural style into sharp focus, gracious, distinctive, and highly functional interior spaces that were completely indistinguishable from their predecessors, and a delighted owner who reports having greatly curtailed her travel schedule in favor of spending more time at her newly reinvented house.
